Wooyoung is a main dancer and vocalist of ATEEZ.

If Yeosang is considered the favourite child, Wooyoung would definitely be the problem child. He’s boisterous, sassy, and mischievous, but playful and loving as well. He is the babygirl king of skinship.

Wooyoung’s emoji is a fox 🦊. His Aniteez is a black cat named WOOYOnyang.

• Wooyoung was born in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and has one older and one younger brother.
• Wooyoung and Yeosang have one of the most precious friendships, which began when they were trainees. They were originally signed to BigHit Entertainment where they trained with TXT’s Yeonjun, Soobin, and Taehyun. In 2017 when Yeosang left BigHit to join KQ, Wooyoung followed him, saying that he wanted to debut together or not at all.
• He has at least three tattoos, reading: "Amicus ad Aras" (matching friendship tattoo with San), "Sin prisa pro sin pausa", and "I’m never alone and I will never be".
• He loves to cook and has his own mukbang (eating) show called Enjoy Muk Woo Young. Here’s an example of one of the episodes, in which Yeosang makes a guest appearance.
• In 2021 Wooyoung was featured on Studio Choom’s Artist of the Month (which highlights dance performances), where he performed ‘Bad’.
• He is a huge fan of BTS, especially Jimin. When ATEEZ did this cover performance of BTS’ Boy With Luv, Wooyoung sang Jimin’s parts.

Not many songs to go now!! 😊 Wooyoung is a dynamic performer with amazing facial expressions, and you’ve probably noticed him having many of the killing parts in their songs. This week we’ll be watching or listening to some dance-focused tracks where Wooyoung thrives**: Fireworks (I’m The One), Eternal Sunshine,** and IT's You.

1. Fireworks (I’m The One)

This is the title track of the album ZERO : FEVER Part.2, which released in March 2021. It’s a song about self-confidence and expression, using fire imagery as a metaphor for igniting one’s own passions. It’s an upbeat EDM track, and the dance performance below is so so good. Wooyoung is featured as centre at 1:10, 1:38, 2:25 and 3:16.

불놀이야 (bulnoliya) is the Korean name of the track and is repeated in the chorus. They use ‘Fireworks’ as the English title, although 불놀이야 may be more accurately translated to “playing with fire”:

불 (bul) = fire

놀이 (noli) = play

A more common translation of fireworks would be 불꽃놀이 (bulkkochnoli).

1. IT's You

IT's You is a unit song with Wooyoung, San, and Yeosang, from their recent album THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL (Dec 2023). It’s a wonderful exhibition of each of these members’ talents.
